THE SUMMER WHIRLWIND
The summer months are busy for the Children of Promise staff and we’re grateful for God’s faithfulness, provision, and joy through all of the journeys.
In June, Mike and Heather led a team of 11 to Tanzania for two weeks, interviewing nearly 550 sponsored children across the country. Sitting with each child one-on-one, hearing about their lives, interests, and dreams, and having the opportunity to speak hope and encouragement over their futures is something we don’t take lightly. It is a joy and a privilege to be able to offer the gift of presence to the children and all of the volunteers who make a Children of Promise program work.
While the Webbs were in East Africa, Kyle Hayes was with a team from Highland Park Community Church (Casper, WY) in Peru. HPCC has been partnering with ministries in Peru for a number of years and has recently expanded their impact through Children of Promise. Thanks in large part to Highland Park VBS, we were able to launch a new Children of Promise site last year based out of Lima, Peru. The HPCC team was able to meet the children that they sponsored and experience first hand the impact of sponsorship.
ONWARD TO DENVER
It was so wonderful to connect with many of you at the Church of God Convention and General Assembly in Denver, Colorado at the end of June.
Thank you to those who visited our table, attended our luncheon, dug in deeper at our breakout session, or had a quick conversation with us in the hallway. It’s always a joy to be with you and have the opportunity to tell you in person how much we value your partnership in making wholeness possible for children around the world.

Do you love to travel? We’ve launched a new way for you to raise funds for trips with CofP while helping more kids find loving sponsors. It’s a win-win that multiplies impact across borders!

GLF WENT BACK TO AFRICA!
Three years ago, we held our first ever Global Learning Forum (GLF) in Tanzania with all of our Africa Program Directors. In 2023, we gathered all of our leaders from Asia and the Middle East in Thailand, and in 2024 we headed to Costa Rica with all the leaders from Central and South America and the Caribbean. This July, we returned to Africa for the fourth GLF!
In collaboration with our friends and ministry colleagues at Global Strategy (Church of God Ministries), we served and encouraged these dynamic leaders from twelve African nations.
It’s hard to quantify the power of presence, but we witness it in every aspect of the Children of Promise ministry and YOU are the ones who make it possible. Thank you! Whether it’s sponsors and children meeting one another, being with you at a convention or in your community, or gathering CofP leaders together for regional gatherings, it’s the laughter around the table, shared experiences, and opportunities to share joys and struggles that strengthens relationships and makes us all more whole. We’ll never stop bringing people together to see what God will do.
