THE RIPPLE EFFECT
For 33 years, we’ve seen the ripple effect of your generosity—children breaking free from poverty, becoming leaders, and giving back to their communities as adults.
In 1997, just five years after Children of Promise was founded, Franke started his sponsorship journey. Franke grew up in a remote mountain village,
walking to school each day on red dusty roads. His faithful sponsor consistently skipped stones of generosity, making it possible for Franke to be consistent in pursuing his education. He did so well in high school that he was awarded an opportunity to go to university to pursue a BA in Education.
Now, as an adult, Franke has returned to his home village with his young family where he teaches children who walk those same red dusty roads to get to school. Many of the children that Franke teaches are sponsored children themselves! Imagine the role model that Franke is to his students! Children have hope for their futures when they see the difference that sponsorship made in Franke’s life.
That’s the power of your partnership. You are an integral part of stories that continue to multiply across generations. Just like skipping a rock across a pond, your gift makes waves far beyond the first splash.
Joseph is 10 years old and lives in Burundi, the poorest country on earth. His days are marked by hunger and long walks for water. School is out of reach, not because he lacks ability, but because his family cannot afford supplies or uniforms. When his father became ill, Joseph began working in nearby fields to help buy food for his younger siblings. At an age when childhood should be full of play and learning, his world is defined by survival.
Joseph needs your help.
Sponsorship through Children of Promise would mean Joseph has access to food, education, healthcare, and discipleship through his local church. It would mean stability for his family and hope for his future. But the impact
doesn’t stop there. Just like in Franke’s story, as Joseph grows, his siblings, his peers, and eventually his community also feel the ripple of change as he becomes a healthy and empowered part of society.
Joseph’s community is in desperate need of a ripple effect.
Here in the United States, we are living in a divisive time. On both sides of the aisle, people would rather throw stones than work together for a better tomorrow. However, when we spend time with you, the Children of Promise family, we see something else. We don’t see stone throwers; we see rock skippers.
Families like yours are regularly skipping rocks across the Children of Promise Pond, creating a ripple effect of hope and wholeness around the world.
This December, we are asking you to help us create a Ripple Effect that will last generations.
Gifts given to The Ripple Effect Christmas Campaign will help Children of Promise reach more children, deepen the Children of Promise Pond, and launch a brand new program in Burundi.
We’re thrilled to share that generous donors have already stepped forward to match gifts throughout the month of December starting on Giving Tuesday, December 2nd. Every dollar given between December 2 – 8, 2025 will be DOUBLED.
Will you help continue the ripple effect into the next generation by helping us reach our $150,000 goal? Every rock skipped, no matter the size, will start a wave of change in communities around the world.
You can make your gift using the enclosed envelope, by phone, or online at www.childrenofpromise.global/ripple. Donors like you can make a splash this Christmas and make it possible for children like Joseph to see their future transformed, just like Franke’s was.
As we head into this Christmas season, we want to pause and say, “thank you.” Your generosity over the years has created ripples of hope all around the world.
